2nd AVOLA Symposium in 2026: One Body, One Health

“Oral health cannot be addressed in isolation but must be understood within the wider context of systemic challenges. The evidence highlights the deep interconnections between individual well-being, food systems, professional practices, and health policies. Insights into the oral microbiome and its links to systemic diseases reveal new avenues for prevention through sustainable nutrition. As the oral-systemic health connection continues to be the focus of an overwhelming amount of scientific and clinical literature, it is important for medical professionals, therapists, caretakers, and policymakers to stay informed, thereby being a reliable source of information for their patients.

Besides providing participants with up-to-date information on the complex connection between oral and general health, we wish to support oral healthcare and general health professionals and stakeholders to understand and evaluate new research and clinical experiences to ultimately benefit their patients' overall health.
