From 26 to 29 Nov. 2025, the annual congress of SEPA (Sociedad Española de Periodoncia y Osteointegración) took place in Barcelona. SEPA 2025 was a large international congress on periodontology, implant dentistry and oral - systemic health, with a record participation of over 7'000 professionals from around 70 countries. It combines a multi‑track scientific program, live surgeries, hands‑on training and management sessions, with a strong focus on the link between periodontal and systemic health, and last but not least, unique Spanish hospitality.

Together with local experts, AVOLA was invited by SEPA to conduct a break-out session on the topic of Oral Health – Systemic Health with Prof. Dr. David Fäh and Prof. Dr. Björn Bartling (AVOLA Board of Directors).
Initial discussions with the newly elected board of SEPA (Paula Matesanz, President; Ana Molina, Vice President, Olalla Argibay and Beatrix de Tapja have been positive, and we have identified many potentials for joint activities. The talks will be intensified in 2026, and we look forward to further professional contacts with our Spanish colleagues.
